Human Information Processing System

This talks about the how our mind process information whether it be visual or verbal.

Sensory Memory

The sensory memory is the gathering part of the brain where we scan everything we see or hear. It this stage we are unconscious of everything we are taken in at the moment. We look at motion, edges, shapes, color, and contrast of things.

Working Memory

The working memory is the part of the brain where we take what was in the sensory memory and we start to focus on what it really is, give it some thought. This would be considered the short - term memory and so we are consciously processing information more in depth. This is where we decide whether or not that information is viable to the point where it is discarded or kept in the long - term memory.

Long - Term Memory

The long - term memory is the where informations is saved from the working memory. The information is there but we unconsciously know it is there until it is brought back to the working memory. It is a collection of schemas and models in which can be used again when they are triggered.
